Vegas Baby!!

So we had an absolute blast in Las Vegas over the weekend. My brother came up from Bakersfield to meet us. It was a long, tiring weekend, but definitely worth the trip. Vegas is our very favorite vacation spot, and even more so with airfare being cheap along with the fact that one of my best friends, Christie, and her husband, Ryan, live there. It was fun doing some "light gaming" (as my brother would say), even though we didn't win.

Christie & I in the motel room before we went out for the night.

VEGAS!

Just wanted to do a quick post to let you all know that I am off to Vegas for the weekend! Pat's company ended up needing him there through the weekend, so I decided to fly down and meet him. I'll post some pics of our fun in Sin City once I get home. Have a great weekend, all!

Baseball on a Hot Summer Night

We had our first minor league baseball experience here in Sacramento over the weekend. We went to a River Cats game and it was a blast! We had tickets on the 3rd base line about 10 rows up. Both of us grew up playing baseball, and I come from a huge baseball family, so it was refreshing to be back in that atmosphere again. Plus, you gotta love that baseball food! I ate myself sick on cotton candy, yum! And they also had fireworks after the game. All-in-all, it was nice to do something a little different.
See how close we were!

As you can see, the game was far from sold-out. But it was fun nonetheless.

The outfield, a little crooked.

I'm hoping to find more fun, out-of-the ordinary things like this that we can do together. I've spent so much time being homesick and missing all the familiar Montana summer activities since we got home from our honeymoon, that I've forgotten that there are so many different things to do when you leave near a city of almost 2 million. We need to take advantage of all the fun things there are to do here, because soon enough, we'll be back in Montana and bored. Haha!

On another note, we ended up having to cancel our camping trip for this weekend because of a work obligation with Pat's company. He has to go to Vegas this week on business and he won't be home in time for us to spend the weekend camping. Needless to say, I am pretty bummed. I'm just embarassed to say that we have lived close to Tahoe and the coast for 2 summers now, yet we still haven't made it out camping yet. Oh well, there will be plenty of time in the fall (I guess that's the nice part about living in a mild climate...the campgrounds stay open later for the season). Otherwise, not much else new here. I'll post again this weekend, while I'm sitting around and waiting for my husband to come back to me.

Summertime and New Hair!!!

Ok, so I just chopped my hair off after the wedding (it was making me crazy). I know that for most people, a haircut is just a haircut. But for me, it was a BIG deal. It's been a long time since I had my hair this short. I love my new cut, and all my friends and family keep asking to see pics, so here are a few pictures. Definitely not my best pictures, being that I was still getting over my 3-week long virus thing when these pictures were taken (I was having a glass of wine to try and boost my immune system, haha).

From the side...
...and the front

I wanted to put some more pictures up of some fun things that we've done this summer. Unfortunately, since we got home from our honeymoon, things have been pretty boring around here. We were so relieved to just be able to relax and just be at home once all the chaos of the wedding and honeymoon ended (some would call it "nesting"). A couple weeks after I returned to work, I ended up getting sick from a toddler who sneezed directly into my mouth (gross, I know). What started out as a nasty cold turned into a nagging sinus infection. I ended up spending the better part of July in bed...poor Pat. He was such a sweetheart though, he took great care of his new wife. :) One thing we did have fun doing was going to the 4th of July rodeo in Folsom. My brother came up from Bakersfield with his girlfriend and we had a wonderful weekend! I was only able to take one picture that night, though, before the battery on our camera died. This picture is pre-haircut (obviously).

We do have some fun plans for the next couple weekends though. This weekend we're going to go to a Sacramento River Cats game (they are the local minor league baseball team here). And then next weekend we plan on camping. I found a spot up near Tahoe in the mountains right along a reservoir, so that should be fun. I'll be sure and post pictures of our fun summer adventures that we're trying to squeeze in during the next few weeks. Adios!

Hello!

I'm new to this whole blog thing, so I guess you could call me a blog virgin. I'm not sure how many people will even read this, but I figure that I'm on the computer enough, I may as well start a blog to keep all our friends and family updated on all the happenings around here. And right now seemed to be a great time to set this thing up, being that Pat has left me alone for the night so he could golf a "Quick 9" after work (is there such thing as a "quick" golf game????). I'll post more later this week, when there's actually something interesting to write about. Bye bye for now!
