27 & 28 Weeks

Okay, I'll admit it.  I'm struggling to keep up with the blog.  Every weekend since early April, our lives have revolved around adjusting to this huge move.  Whether it's packing and getting ready to move, or unpacking and trying to get settled and ready for baby, every weekend is packed to the gills with a mile long to-do list. And I'm feeling a little discouraged that I don't have the stamina I once had to tackle all of these tasks I'd like to get done.  Every Sunday evening, I crash on the couch and lament over how much more I feel I should have accomplished.  Pat's doing a great job of picking up the slack and reminding me to go easy on myself and listen to my body.  But that doesn't help the nagging "not enough" feeling.

So anyway, long story short, here's 2 weeks worth of pics.  Since my birthday was a couple of weeks ago, we went out for dinner last Sunday night (that's the reason for the dress and me actually putting on makeup, which rarely happens on the weekends anymore).

27 weeks:

And just for comparison sake, here's a picture of me wearing the same dress almost exactly a year ago, at my grad school graduation (wow, the last year has FLOWN by!).

28 weeks:
(looking about as exhausted as I feel after spending the long weekend painting the baby's room a beautiful shade of light aqua blue and cleaning/organizing the garage).

How far along? 28 weeks, 2 days

Maternity clothes? Mostly.  Surprisingly, many of my regular clothes still fit...if you're into the pregnant belly-baring look.  ;)

Stretch marks? Nope.  I think I'm in the clear for now because I'm in this weird stage where my stomach looks really big some days, and seems to shrink others.

Sleep: Decent.  I usually sleep really good until about 2:00, which seems to be the magic wakeup time for my bladder.

Best moment this week: Getting the baby's room painted.  I'm in LOVE with the color!

Movement: Lots, especially when I'm on my side.  It's a weird sensation to feel her moving on 2 opposite sides of my stomach at the same time.

Food cravings: Still bananas, donuts (this one has been pretty consistent for the last few months), watermelon, grapes, and anything cold, juicy, and fruity.

Gender: Baby girl!

Labor Signs: Nope.  Some Braxton Hicks contractions, but those typically only happen when I'm dehydrated and spending too much time on my feet.

Belly Button in or out? Innie.  Getting shallower.

Wedding rings on or off? They still fit, but I'm much more comfortable with them off, so I think I'll be saying goodbye to them soon.  Plus, I had two women tell me horror stories in the last week of having to get their rings cut off because they left them on too long and their fingers got swollen.

What I miss: My stamina.  And wine.  Have I mentioned that one yet?  :)

What I am looking forward to: Being done with work in a few weeks so I can really get down to business with my nesting.

Milestones: I'm now in the 3rd trimester.  That means I'm two-thirds of the way there.  That means she will be here in less than 12 weeks.  Eeeek!!!!

Big Time Catch-Up (weeks 23-26)

Okay, I'm just going to call the last 3 weeks what it was: complete chaos.  The big move to our new house was last weekend, and the two weeks leading up to that were nothing short of stressful: packing, working, entertaining guests, packing some more, etc.  So needless to say, my blogging went by the wayside (plus our computer was packed up for the last week and a half, so that made it difficult to upload pictures).  So without further ado, here is the photo bomb that is the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy.

23 weeks:

24 weeks:
(San Francisco, spending a lovely afternoon with my good friend Christie. Too busy to take belly pictures that week, so these will have to do)

Absolutely adore her.  Christie is among the few fabulous "Aunties" that Baby G will have.  :)

25 weeks:
(and dead tired from the move)

26 weeks:
(Feeling very full and spoiled after my husband pampered me with flowers, a spa gift certificate, and a delicious pancake breakfast.  I was truly spoiled this Mother's Day, more so than I deserved to be considering I'm not quite a mom yet.  But I won't complain.)

How far along? 26 weeks, 2 days

Maternity clothes? Yes, and some of my regular stretchy clothes still.

Stretch marks? No.  Still keeping my fingers crossed, since my belly seems to be growing by the day.

Sleep: My allergies have been bothering me.  And I have baby parts (I think feet) poking and prodding at my bladder constantly, so I don't get a whole lot of sleep between having to breathe through my mouth all night and getting up every couple of hours to pee.

Best moment this week: Having my husband pamper me on Mother's Day.  Good man.

Movement: Tons!  Especially after something sugary like a cookie or a popsicle.

Food cravings: Bananas, banana popsicles, iced tea, pretty much anything cold and juicy.

Gender: Baby girl!

Labor Signs: Not this week.  Had a few scares two weeks ago, but I think they were mostly stress-related. My doctor threatened to put me on bed rest if I didn't start taking better care of myself.  That was the wake up call I needed, so I'm taking it much easier and everything is fine now.  :)

Belly Button in or out? Innie.

Wedding rings on or off? Still on.  But the heat is making my fingers swell, so I may be saying goodbye to my engagement ring soon.  I am so grateful I never soldered my two rings together; since my wedding band is so thin I'm confident that I'll be able to wear it through most of my pregnancy.

What I miss: Being able to be on my feet for longer than an hour or two.  And a good, hard workout.  And wine.  Always wine.

What I am looking forward to: Lots of fun stuff coming up: my birthday next week, setting up her room over the next few weeks, Labor Class in early June, and my Montana Baby Shower in about a month.  May and June are exciting months!

Milestones: Making it past V-Day (Viability Day, 24 weeks, when the baby has a much greater chance of survival if she was to decide to come early.  But don't get any ideas, Baby!  Stay put, you've got some more baking to do!)
